After losing his leg in a tragic motorcycle accident, Samuel Maddaus, a veteran amputee and outdoor enthusiast, embarks on the journey of a lifetime: biking from Alaska to Patagonia, a 16,000-mile journey that he hopes will inspire other amputees to find their own strength within the natural world.

This feature-length documentary aims to detail Sam’s 16,000+ mile journey from Alaska to Patagonia as well as inspire others experiencing the struggles of limb-loss.

Why this film?

In the U.S. alone, there are over 2 million people experiencing limb loss and another 28 million at risk of amputation surgery. Of these people, over 30% experience depression. According to Hanger Clinic, chances are you will encounter someone who has faced or is facing this difficult journey. That is why Sam’s story is so important to be told.

We feel strongly that the final film deserves to reach a large audience with the hope that it will inspire not only other amputees, but all kinds of people looking to be motivated to overcome whatever difficulties they’re facing and expand the limits of what’s possible.
